What is IPL?

IPL hair removal therapy is a popular method of removing unwanted hair from the body and works by focusing a high frequency ray of light directly onto the hair shaft. The light depletes the hair follicle of moisture causing it to burn up and die. Because IPL hair removal therapy eliminates the unwanted hair from the hair root to the tip, treatment is painless and is proven to be a very effective long term hair removal technique.

Advantages of IPL hair removal compared with other methods

IPL is generally safer and less expensive than other laser treatments, and is more comfortable than other hair removal treatments.

Can this treatment be used on all skin types?

This treatment is not suitable for people with black skin but can be used for skin types 1-5.

Will I get permanent hair removal and if so, how long will it take?

This and offers permanent hair reduction in approximately 6 sessions. Some people need a few more sessions to get real satisfying and long lasting results, others a couple less, depending on their hair and skin type.

Overall, the treatment can provide up to 90% permanent hair reduction although we would recommend ‘maintenance treatments’ once or twice a year after completion of the initial course of treatment.

When (after how many sessions) will I notice the results? Do I need to keep shaving?

The first hair begins to fall out after a week on average. Continue to shave regularly though, or else you will not notice the progressive "balding". 15 to 20 days after the shots you should see the results and then you can decide when you might need the next session - wait for 1 month, or as soon as you see hair re-growth contact your therapist for your next appointment.

At what age can I start using the E> One?

The E> One should only be used (under parent's consent) from the age of 16.

Is it safe for pregnant women?

No

Can this treatment be used on scars, stretch marks, tattoos?

Scars - no problem. Stretch marks - no problem after a positive patch test. Tattoos - No this could modify their aspect and cause burns.

I am allergic to many creams. May I use the E> One?

A patch test must be taken prior to treatment using all our products but there is no possible allergy cause with the use of the E> One, and the gel is completely neutral and contains no perfume.

I have pimples on my skin (caused by hairs, according to my doctor) -may I use the E> One?

Yes and we would expect these pimples to disappear very quickly (after 2-3 sessions on average).

I have a mole – is it dangerous to use this treatment?

As with all the light technologies dedicated to hair removal, it is necessary to avoid flashing moles. They have a larger concentration of melanin and so will absorb a significant amount of energy. All our practitioners have "Patches" and a "Stop" device to hide the areas that require protection. All moles will be avoided, although freckles are not a problem.

I have an immuno suppressor treatment with cyclosporine. Is there any medical contraindication using the E> One?

The E> One, as all the professional flash lamps, is not in itself a potential starter of melanoma. Therefore, in the absence of existing melanoma, there is no contraindication to use of the E> One. With regard to the risks related to use of cyclosporine, you should ask your doctor whether you can undergo flash lamp session treatments during your medical treatment. Your therapist will require his/her approval before giving treatment.
